Wedding at Hestercombe House, Taunton

Although a Somerset-based wedding photographer I cover weddings and events across the Southern part of the UK including London. I thus always appreciate the chance to cover a wedding close to home. Anneka and Rob's celebration recently was just such an opportunity, made all the more enjoyable by the couple's choice of the stunning Hestercombe House near Taunton

The day began with Anneka's bridal preparations at nearby Mill Meadow Eco homes, a beautiful collection of lakeside holiday homes which definitely facilitated calm and tranquillity prior to the ceremony and celebrations

The ceremony itself was held at Hestercombe's Orangery, a light-filled Ham Stone building designed by Sir Edwyn Lutyens which is surrounded by an impressive garden. The weather was kind for an April wedding and a few photographs were possible outside before the guests retreated indoors for drinks and canapes. The wind did, however, present some challenges for the photographs until Anneka opted to dispense with her stunning, but lengthy, veil!

The wedding breakfast was held in Hestercombe's Bampfylde Hall, a lovely old building with high ceilings and dramatic timber beams. Following a buffet supper and the speeches Anneka and Rob snatched an opportunity for some quiet informal time together, despite the rain, which allowed a few more photo opportunities before they returned to the Hall for music and dancing.
